Reminder: Shutting Down

Feed My Inbox - Confirm your feed

Fellow customers,

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to shut down Feed My Inbox over the course of the next couple of months.

Timeline

There will be no immediate impact on your account. Email updates will continue and you can still login to add/remove feeds at your liesure.

The same is true for webmasters. Your embedded forms will continue to work and accept subscribers until January 10, 2013.

Starting today (November 9), we will no longer accept new signups or feed subscriptions via FeedMyInbox.com. Again, this does not impact your account.

December 1- all outgoing emails will have a note on top explaining the shut-down

December 10- this is the final day subscription payments will be processed

January 10- no further email updates will be sent to customers

If you are on an annual payment plan, we will be reaching out individually and offering a partial refund based on the last date you were billed.

Feed My Inbox Alternatives

We recommend Blogtrottr. Although we have not tested it extensively, it seems to be closest to the available features we offer. Google Reader is the best available feed reader, although they don't have support for email notifications. You can also generate RSS feed emails using Zapier or Ifft.

To export your feeds, login and visit http://www.feedmyinbox.com/account/export/. An OPML file will download to your computer, which can easily be imported into Blogtrottr or Google Reader.

For webmasters, there are several available RSS to Email companies to host your signup form:

Why?

Long story short, we failed to generate enough revenue to sustain the business long-term and justify the time necessary for ongoing support, maintenance and feature development.

We are incredibly grateful for your support along the way and apologize that it didn't work out differently.

The vision of Dubai Marina is to create an awe-inspiring city-within-a city that delights residents with its cosmopolitan, free-spirited atmosphere and unique, invigorating lifestyle. It will be an urban centre on the water, comparable to the most exclusive waterfront developments in the world's leading cities. Dubai Marina is unlike anywhere else in Dubai, the Middle East and even the world.

Victoria Police say - Don't use Apple Maps app.

From the news report: "Victoria Police say that in the past two months they have rescued six people who were lost in the Murray Sunset National Park while trying to get to Mildura - more than 70km away.

Inspector Simon Clemence says he is concerned people using the Apple Maps app could find themselves in trouble.

"If it was a 45-degree day, someone could actually die," he said.

"It's quite a dangerous situation, so we would be calling for people not to ...

When you're sad and when you're lonely
And you haven't got a friend
Just remember that death is not the end
And all that you held sacred
Falls down and dows not bend
Just remember that death is not the end.

Not the end, not the end
Just remember that death is not the end.

When you're standing on the cross-roads
That you cannot comprehend
Just remember that death is not the end
And all your dreams have vanished
And you don't know what's up the bend
Just remember that death is not the end.

Not the end, not the end...

No one ever wondered that a truly remarkable electronic company like "Apple" would ever think of manufacturing a car! But Apple's former CEO (Steve Jobs) who was indeed a legend, thought of building one at his time. It was his dream to build such a car that could be called "iCar" and carry an Apple logo on it.

Email notifications from Google Webmaster Tools

Dear Webmaster Tools user,

We know that having a healthy and well-performing website is important to you. To keep you informed about your site's status Webmaster Tools will now automatically send you a notification email if there are critical or important issues that we detect with your site.

We'll only send you email for issues that we think have significant impact on your site's health or search performance which have clear actions that you can take to address. For example, we'll email you if we detect malware on your site or see a significant increase in errors while crawling your site.

For most sites these kinds of issues will occur rarely. If your site does happen to have an issue we cap the number of emails we send over a certain period of time to avoid flooding your inbox.

If you don't want to receive any email from Webmaster Tools you can change your email delivery preferences at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/preferences.

We hope that you find this change a useful way to stay up-to-date on critical and important issues regarding your site's health.

If you'd like more information about Webmaster Tools and building Google-friendly websites please visit http://www.google.com/webmasters.

+Todd Vierling rightly pointed out that this one link deserves more direct attention.

Edit: And we are back s of 9PM Central time. Please refrain from "me too!" "they all do it!" and other comments that do not serve the need of the public learning to fact check their politicians. Pointing out new lies from any politician using verifiable facts and logical reasoning would be a great contribution! Just please don't constantly bring up the same old debunked claims of lies. When you die, you can leave your physical possessions to friends, loved ones, or charities. Those physical possessions might include an extensive collection of vinyl albums, or a library of books you loved. But, if your music collection is in iTunes, or your book collection is in your Kindle it might be quite a bit harder to grant access to them to someone else in the event of your death.

The article linked here paints it as a legal battle against Apple, but it's broader than that. Your webmail, cloud...
